Summer is almost over and the opening of class is fast approaching! Are you ready for school? If you are still uncertain on pursuing your studies because of financial problems, here are several scholarship grants for High School, College, Graduate Studies inside and outside the country that you can inquire and try applying.

  1. CHED Scholarship 2019

The Student Financial Assistance Program is provided to students who are currently enrolled in authorized public and private Higher Education Institutions to be able to help the underprivileged but deserving students to pursue studies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Filipino citizen
  • High school graduate/ Passer of Alternative Learning System/ Philippine Educational Placement Test
  • Parents’ annual income not exceeding to P300,000
  • Must avail of only one CHED scholarship or financial assistance program

BENEFITS:

  • Financial assistance of P6,000 to P15,000 per semester
  • Applicable to both incoming and current college students

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Prepare Form 138/ Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate/ Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level
  • Latest Income Tax Return of parents/ guardians
  • Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue
  • Certificate of Indigency from the Government
  • Affidavit of No Income from the Department of Social Welfare and Development
  • Certificate of good moral character from last school attended
  • Duly accomplished CHED StuPAPs Application Form

  1. PhilFrance Scholarship 2019

 The PhilFrance Scholarship was first posted in the website of the Embassy of France for academic year 2019 – 2020. This is given to Filipino leaders who have shown strong academic leadership and professional abilities and wishes to study for a GRADUATE DEGREE.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Filipino citizen
  • Graduate or graduating student of a Philippine Higher Education Institution

BENEFITS:

  • Selected candidates are given the status of boursier du gouvernement français (French government scholar)
  • Subsidized tuition fee
  • Monthly stipend of €700 (around PhP 41,000) for Master’s or €1060 (around PhP 97,000) for PhD candidates
  • Healthcare package
  • Priority access to student housing facilities

HOW TO APPLY:

  • One page CV detailing academic, professional, and leadership experience
  • Essay no longer than 500 words explaining the reason for interest of studying in France and how can this be of any help to the Filipino society
  • Certificate true copy of academic transcripts
  • Letter of acceptance, or proof of a completed application to degree-awarding graduate programs issued by the French higher education institution

  1. DOST Junior Level Science Scholarship

 In order to provide financial assistance to talented and deserving students on their third year of college pursuing degree programs in the areas of Science and Technology and ensure a steady and adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country towards national progress, the Junior Level Science Scholarship 2019 Program is offered.

BENEFITS:

  • Monthly allowance of P7,000
  • Tuition and other school fees (P40,000 per academic year)
  • Book allowance of P10,000/ year
  • MS/PE uniform for 1st Semester of First Year only P1,000
  • Group Insurance (Premium)
  • Transportation allowance for those studying outside of home province (1 economy-class roundtrip fare)
  • Summer allowance (if required per curriculum)
  • Post- graduation clothing allowance of P1,000

QUALIFICATION:

  • Naturally-born Filipino citizen;
  • Poor, talented, and deserving student who belongs to family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators (only for RA 7687 applicants)
  • Incoming regular third year college student with an identified Science and Technology course
  • Has a general weighted average of at least 83%
  • Resident of the municipality for at least 4 years attested by the Barangay Chairman
  • Has good moral character and is in good health
  • Has qualified for the JLSS examination

  • Wait for test permits to be mailed or inquire DOST Regional office for updates days before the scheduled examination.

  1. ASEAN Scholarships for Philippines

For those who want to apply for Scholarship for Singapore schools at the Secondary 3 level in 2020, you may apply the ASEAN Scholarships for Philippines which is tenable for 4 years and granted with Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Certificate upon completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Filipino citizen
  • Born between 2003 – 2005
  • Completed at least Grade 8 but more preference is given to those who have completed Grade 9
  • Proficient in English and has a good record of participation and performance in both academic and non-academic activities

BENEFITS:

  • Annual allowance with hostel accommodation
  • Settling-in allowance
  • Return economy class air passage
  • Tuition fee
  • GCE O-Level and A-Level examination fees
  • Subsidized medical benefits and accident insurance cover

HOW TO APPY:

  • Submit online application by May 12, 2019.
  • Shortlisted applicants will take the test and interview in Manila.

  1. DOH Medical Scholarships

To increase the number of physicians and health care officers who can provide basic quality health services to the unserved, undeserved, hard to reach, and economically deprived individuals in the country, the DOH Medical Scholarship was created.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Naturally born Filipino citizen;
  • Has good moral character;
  • Passed the admission requirement, standards, and policies of chosen school as well as other requirements of DOH;
  • Didn’t avail any other scholarship grants;
  • Priority is given to the following:
  • Applicants residing in GIDA and indigenous communities as certified by concerned government agencies (e.g. National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Local Government Unit);
  • Applicants belonging to the minority sector;
  • Applicants dependent of government employees, Barangay Health Workers and Traditional Birth Attendants; and
  • Applicants who are victims of calamities, children/dependents of police/ soldier fatally wounded/ killed while on duty. 

BENEFITS:

  • Free tuition, laboratory, miscellaneous, and other school related school fees (directly given to partner school)
  • Subsidy and allowances (paid directly to the scholars)
  • Book allowance – P12,100/ semester
  • Uniform allowance – P3,025/ semester
  • Miscellaneous allowance – P5,500/ semester
  • Living subsidy – P4,500/ semester
  • Lodging – P4,500/ semester
  • Transportation allowance – P880/ month

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Go directly to DOH partner school and undergo the screening and selection process as defined by the partner school for admission to the program including the DOH Medical Scholarship Application Form and Scholar’s Commitment
  • Wait for the endorsement of DOH RO within the region for evaluation and validation to HHRDB.
