A stylish and cozy bahay kubo in Catmon has recently opened its doors to the public. It’s the perfect little getaway place for those who love the peace and quiet ~ and to be surrounded by nature. Areca Palm Hut ~ is the latest and trendiest place to spend a night or two for lovers and friends.
I love how secluded the place is, plus the pool and outdoor shower. It’s ideal for dipping the whole day and bonding with your family, friends, and or significant other. Kids can run and play around the big grassy space outside the hut. And you can also do your yoga and meditation under the sun and be surrounded by nature’s bounty. The air you’ll be breathing here is so fresh, you won’t wanna go back to the city.
The interior of the house is so beautiful, I love how they designed everything. It’s a tiny home but looks spacious and you got everything you need right there. I like the bedroom window, it’s so cool and I love how the natural light gets in through it. Imagine waking up to that and looking outside, seeing the pool that’s inviting you to jump in.
Areca Palm Hut is ideal for a group of 6. Breakfast is free for 6 guests and will be served by 7 or 8 AM. When you arrive at the place, the staff will help you check in. Staff assistance is also available until 7 PM.

Areca Palm Hut is located in the highlands of Barangay Cabunga-an, Catmon, Cebu. It is 3 KM away from Catmon National Highway.
CAR: The easiest way to get to the mountain farm is through a private or rental car. Just search Areca Palm Hut on Google Maps or Waze to find the fastest possible route. It’s approximately 56km north of Cebu City proper, and the drive may take up to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then another 5-minute uphill drive from the national highway. The place has enough parking space for two vehicles.
BUS: From the North Bus Terminal, get on a bus headed to Bogo/ Daanbantayan/ Maya/ San Remigio or Hagnaya. These routes all pass by Catmon, just tell the conductor you’d like to be dropped off at Catmondaan in Recuerdo Beach Resort. Then, take a habal habal ride to Brgy. Cabunga-an, it’s uphill and 3 KM from the national highway. Do call them beforehand, so you would have proper instructions to get to the place.
