Bill & Jo Cuisine: Halal Certified Eat All You Can For Only 170 Pesos

Being a Christian nation, the Philippines as a whole has never been conscious about the food we eat. We take in beef, pork, chicken, goat, and fish. While we love our food, it is no secret that we also have brothers and sisters living in the country who are not very fond of our usual cuisine.

Many choose not to eat pork due to religious reasons while some try to be fit and healthy. Since Cebu is diverse, don’t you think it is about time to put in the spotlight our need for more options?

What is Halal?

Halal is the way of preparing meat in accordance with the Muslim law. It literally means ‘permissible’, which makes it a versatile option for foodies who are conscious about the food they consume.

If you are wondering why Halal food is expensive, it is because the preparation process is not cheap. I will not put in many details because I might get it all wrong but according to my research, butchers need to be in the Islamic faith, pigs should not be in sight while preparing the meat and an Islamic ritual must be performed during the procedure.

Thus, the meat used in this restaurant is prepared with the utmost care to ensure quality and value.

Bill & Jo Cuisine Review

Bill & Jo Cuisine is a certified Halal restaurant located in Elizabeth Mall, Cebu City. At first, I was only curious as to what they served. I also wanted to try new cuisines. But I came back for more.

My first try was this chicken shawarma. It was only 55 pesos and it tasted really good! The balance of flavors makes it so good.

This Turkish Pide Pizza is new to me. Most pizzas that I’ve had are full of beef and pork toppings but this one is quite too simple. However, the taste (plus the sauce) is not as bland as its presentation. I actually enjoyed it.

Their rice shawarma is a simple rice and chicken topping but their chicken tastes really good. The flavors are not too overwhelming which makes it really easy for my palette.

Menu

Bill & Jo only serves chicken based products. Prices start at 55 pesos only!

Here is the menu for your reference:

You should try the other items on their menu. Many potential customers, as I have observed, come in to inquire but leave without ordering anything. I think it is a common misconception the food items that we can hardly pronounce taste awful. We should change that!
