Free Bus Rides for those in the Night Shifts

Commuting to places when one doesn’t have a private vehicle can be daunting at times. Especially at night – when taking a cab or taking a grab car, it can be a  little pricey. Those who work graveyard shifts know this. More commonly the females like to take a taxi just to be sure and get to work safely. I’ve had this experience myself and every night made me anxious and yep, broke. Hah! 

However, for those who aren’t aware of this yet. Good news! There are FREE bus rides for people who work in the BPO Industry and at night. 

Under the leadership of former Mayor Tomas Osmeña, a memorandum of agreement was signed between the Cebu City government and Metro Rapid Transit Services Inc. (MRTSI). An agreement that started the Free Shuttle Service offered by MyBus. 

The operations started early this year, on January 30, 2019 – wherein free bus rides are provided mainly for those who are working in Cebu IT Park. The routes of the bus rides are going to and from Ayala/ Mabolo areas to IT Park in Lahug. 

The agreement stated that MRTSI will provide 3 buses while the government will be responsible for providing a budget – for the fuel for the buses. The buses can accommodate up to 42 passengers. 

According to ex-Mayor Osmeña, his main concern was the safety and security of the workers who work in the night shifts. These workers included BPO employees, nurses and others. The former mayor also added that even non-Cebu City residents can take advantage of the free bus rides. 

Here’s the list of the route stops and the schedule of the bus rides:

• W Geonzon Street – IT Park 
• Pope John Paul II Ave – Petron Gas Station 
• Pope John Paul II Ave – San Carlos Seminary College
• Pope John Paul II Ave – cor New Era Street
• MJ Cuenco Ave – Mabolo Church Skywalk 
• Samar Loop – Cebu Business Park (Ayala) 
• Mindanao Ave – Cebu Business Park (Ayala) 
• Jose Maria del Mar Street – IT Park

SM Seaside Free Rides 

We all love shopping and strolling around the biggest mall in Cebu – SM Seaside City. However, we also know how the ride going there can be a little bit of a hassle. No worries though because MyBus also offers FREE rides in the following area; all leading to the SM Seaside City. 

FREE Rides in the following areas from 10 AM to 8 PM Daily: 

Route 1: Fuente Osmeña – V. Rama – N. Bacalso – SM Seaside City Cebu (with 20-minute intervals)

Route 2: Fuente Osmeña – Banawa – Labangon – N. Bacalso – SM Seaside City Cebu (hourly intervals)

Free Shuttle Services from Robinsons Galleria 

Those who are unaware, Robinsons Galleria Cebu offers free rides to and from the mall. To take advantage of the shuttle service, you’re going to have to present a receipt worth Php 200 (can be single or accumulated) from any stores in Robinsons Galleria. 

You must present this receipt at the concierge or information counter for verification. The counter is near the entrance by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf/ Sans Rival Cakes & Pastries. After your receipts are verified, you will be issued a Free Ticket pass. Then you will present this pass to the bus driver upon boarding. 

This procedure is done to make sure that all Robinsons Galleria customers are prioritized. 

SCHEDULE:

Robinsons Galleria Cebu to Robinsons Fuente

• The bus departs from the Robinsons Galleria mall to Robinsons Fuente at 9:00 AM and every hour thereafter until 2:00 PM. 
• Then from 2:30 PM; 3:30 PM; 4:00 PM; 5:00 PM; 6:00 PM; 7:00 PM; 8:10 PM and last trip are at 9:15 PM.

Robinsons Fuente to Robinsons Galleria 

• The bus going to Robinsons Galleria departs from Robinsons Fuente from 9:30 AM and every hour thereafter until 1:30 PM. 
• Then from 2:15 PM; 3:15 PM; 3:45 PM; 4:30 PM; 5:30 PM; 6:30 PM; 7:30 PM; 8:45 PM and the last trip at 9:30 PM.

• All routes to Fuente are via Robinsons Cybergate Cebu
• During weekends, FREE Shuttle departs every thirty (30) minutes

The bus route starts at 8:00 AM and every 2 hours thereafter until 3:00 PM. 

SSS Jones to Robinsons Galleria 

The bus route starts at 9:00 AM and every 2 hours thereafter until 4:00 PM. 

Robinsons Galleria to Cebu Port (Pier)

The bus departs every hour from Robinsons Galleria to Port of Cebu from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM then from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.  

Cebu Port to Robinsons Galleria

The bus departs every hour from Port of Cebu to Robinsons Galleria from 8:20 AM to 11:20 AM then from 1:50 PM to 4:50 PM.

Robinsons Galleria to North Bus Terminal

The bus departs every hour from Robinsons Galleria to North Bus Terminal from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM then from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 

North Bus Terminal to Robinsons Galleria 

The bus departs every hour from North Bus Terminal to Robinsons Galleria from 8:50 AM to 11:50 AM then from 2:20 PM to 5:20 PM. 

Robinsons Galleria to South Town Centre

If you are from Cebu City South, there is a free shuttle service from Robinsons Galleria to South Town Centre in Bulacao, Talisay City, Cebu (Vice Versa). Here are the schedule:
