It was definitely a whole new world for the 23-year old Minglanilla native, Morissette Amon to meet Aladdin’s Genie, Will Smith, and Disney’s legendary composer, Alan Menken. This meetup was shown last June 4, 2019 on the video clip posted on the Instagram account of Disney Philippines.

Morissette was chosen alongside with Darren Espanto to create the Philippine’s version of the film’s soundtrack, “A Whole New World”. As part of the international promotion of Disney movie, Morissette went to Tokyo to meet the musical composer who worked on the animated and current version of Aladdin. As someone who grew up with Disney’s music, the Filipina singer inquired Alan Menken on how was it like to work on the remake of Aladdin 27 years after to which he replied with: “It’s kinda more contemporary. Working with Will. I didn’t have to do anything.”

As per Genie’s wish, Morissette went on a duet performance with Alan Menken of “A Whole New World” to which prompted great applause from the Hollywood artists. Even the Broadway legend and original singer of “A Whole New World”, Lea Salong was thrilled for the achievement of this young singer.
