Going to different islands around Cebu might seem risky and taxing, but traveling to these nearby islands is sometimes less stressful than battling with the traffic in the city.
Here’s an updated list of ferries that will bring you to the different islands around Cebu:
Going to Lapu-lapu is quite a hassle these days thanks to the ongoing road projects of Cebu City and Lapu-lapu City. For a quicker trip to the Historic Resort City, you can opt to take the Metro Ferry from Pier 3 that goes directly to Lapu-lapu City!
Travel Time: 15 – 20 minutes (waiting time may depend on how fast the seats may be filled)
Fare: P25 – regular (inclusive of terminal fee); P14 for students, PWD and Senior Citizens; P12 for children under 12 years of age
Schedule: 5am to 8pm hourly trips
Located east of Cebu is a group of islands that holds beautiful white sand beaches and offers extreme adventures to travel junkies. This island is now made more accessible with the daily trips from the City of Danao and Cebu Yacht Club’s port behind Island Central Mall.
Fare: P250 regular fare (inclusive of terminal fee); P11- for children 10 years and below; P157 for senior citizen
Schedule: 5:30am; 8:30am ; 11:00am; 2:00pm; and 5:30pm – 2 hours travel time
3. Mactan Island to Camotes Isand

Travel time: One and a half hour
The island of Olanggo is known as a home to migratory birds and rich marine creatures. A perfect destination for those who love to go biking or wandering around the island, this trip is one of the cheapest travel one can afford from Cebu!

Schedule: hourly trips from 5am to 5pm

The northernmost part of the island of Cebu is not only famous of its crystal clear waters and white sand beaches, but as well of it treasured gems – the thresher sharks! No worries though as they don’t stay on shallow waters so you’re free to swim and hangout in the beach as much as you like. But if you’re the adventurer type, group with local divers in the area and search where to spot these beautiful creatures!

Situated in the northern end of the province, Bantayan Island is often frequented by visitors and beach lovers because of its crystal clear waters, cave pools, and beautiful resorts. This island has been the setting of many local movies which made the place even more popular.
Fare: P185 regular and P205 airconditioned; P144 for students and Senior Citizens. You can book ahead here.

6. Topline Express Ferries (Cebu to Mactan)
Beat the traffic conveniently with Topline Express Ferry Boat that will take you from Cebu to Mactan and vice versa. It offers 16 trips per day per ferry. It’s big enough that each ferry can accommodate 325 passengers. Travel time will take around 30-45 minutes.
Route: Mactan Wharf (near MEPZ 1) to Pier 3, Cebu City and vice versa
Fare: P25 per head (inclusive of terminal fee); students – P22 (inclusive of terminal fee); senior citizen/PWD – P20 (inclusive of terminal fee); kids 3years old and below – FREE

Finally answering the call of many people traveling south of Cebu, MCE Shipping Lines launched the MyBoat – a marine vessel that would ferry from Pier 3 of Cebu City to the boardwalk of Naga City.
