We’re proud and happy to share with you guys that the Office of the Vice-President of the Philippines and their partners have started providing Free Dormitories for Cebu City Frontliners. As well as Free Ferry Services between Mactan to Olango Island.
Along with the Free Shuttle Services, they have decided to help more by providing shelter for our hardworking and brave frontliners and health workers. This is part of their Bayanihan Sugbuanon program – they OVP’s COVID-19 Response Operation in Cebu.
The first Dormitory is located in Brgy. Banilad, Cebu City – it’s the one closest to the North General Hospital. The dorm is open for health workers, medical practitioners, and other frontliners who offer their essential services in this national crisis.
Due to limited space and in accordance with physical distancing as well as other safety measures, requests are to be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The second Dorm is located in Mandaue City. The hospitals close to this dormitory are Chong Hua Hospital in Mandaue, University of Cebu Medical Center, and Dr. Ignacio M. Cortes General Hospital.
The third Dorm is in Talisay City, and the closest medical institution is the Talisay District Hospital.
The dorms are open for health workers, medical practitioners, and other frontliners who offer their essential services in this national crisis.

The fourth Dorm is located in Brgy. Capitol Site. The hospitals close to this dormitory are Chong Hua Hospital, Vicente Sotto Medical Center, and Cebu Doctors’ Hospital. As well as Velez Hospital and the Visayas Community Medical Center.
The dorms are open for health workers, medical practitioners, and other frontliners who offer their essential services in this national crisis.
Due to limited space and in accordance to physical distancing as well as other safety measures, requests are to be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.

The OVP has also started providing Free Ferry Services for Cebuano frontliners and patients between the islands of Mactan and Olango. The operations started on Thursday – July 9, 2020.
The ferry will start to depart from Angasil Port in Mactan at 6 in the morning – going to Sta. Rosa Port in Olango Island. And will run until 4:20 in the afternoon, with a 20-minute interval.

I’m certain a lot of our local heroes aka frontliners would appreciate all the help we can get right now, in all this that’s happening. Things are really getting tougher by the day, and we’re glad that more and more people are trying their best to help out the best way they know-how.
We hope this helps those who are living a little far from the hospitals or clinics they work in. Because for sure you would need as much rest as you can after a long hard day of trying your best to help others.
