There is no denying that Bantayan is one of the best tourist destinations in Cebu when it comes to beaches. I have been there a couple of times already, but every single time is just a different experience. The water, the sand, the shoreline, and the food are great. But sometimes, this depends on which resort you are staying at. I personally scout for resorts that are clean, VERY affordable, and that’s right next to the sea.
There is never a wrong excuse to hit the beach, don’t you agree?
Spending time relaxing on the beach and facing this view is an ultimate vacation goal. I love the beach. The sound of the waves comforts me like there are no work deadlines to catch. The beach also reminds me of every long summer vacation I have had with my family, which never ends without a beach outing.
Sta. Fe is such a beautiful place, but expensive. The last time my family and I visited there, we went to a cheap resort and walked through all the other resorts by following the shore.
I could find the difference and now, I understand why some are more expensive than the others. But it is not the island’s fault, it is the resorts’.
Cleanliness plays a huge role in marketing anything, it includes beaches. The cheaper ones are almost always dirty, no maintenance. The more expensive resorts, however, make sure that their place is sparkling.
But other than that, the amenities, rooms, view, water supply, food, and the rates also play a huge role in the success of their business and the satisfaction of every customer.
Villacastin’s Beach Resort is among the ones that have amazing views. Cleanliness is not an issue and the room rates won’t bother you.
The water is also very clear and the sand won’t hurt your feet.
The resort is actually very simple but it has all your needs.
The rooms are very simple. Each one has a bed, an air condition unit, a bathroom and a chance to have a view like this every morning.
You can also rent a tent if you plan on staying on the beach for the rest of the trip! They can provide you with the tents, all you have to do is pay for it.
This is the list of rates as of August 2017. As you can see, the prices are very reasonable. Bantayan Island is a tourist destination and everything is expected to be priced higher, but this resort will give you your penny’s worth.
Go to the North Bus Terminal to hail a bus going to Hagnaya. By land, it will take about 3 hours to travel depending on the traffic. If I were to go to Bantayan, I would start traveling after the rush hour.
From Hagnaya, ask for the Express Ferry Boat ticket going to Sta. Fe. You won’t miss it, just ask around.
The bus fare is about 170 pesos and the boat fare is 180 pesos.
Villacastin’s Beach Resort can be found along the now-closed Sugar Beach Resort. Can you imagine the sand quality in this area? I can! The last time I went there, I could freely step on the sugar-fine sand without hurting my soles.
