On its third year, Cebu joins the celebration of the National Arts Month by inviting artists and art lovers to join the Cebu City Arts Week this February 11 -16 at the Plaza Independencia. Guided by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ theme “Ani ng Sining: The Philippine Arts Festival”, series of activities are prepared in order to celebrate the rich harvest of artistic endeavors in the Philippines and the passion of Filipino artists and cultural workers.
Through the efforts of the Cebu City Government and Cultural and Historical Affairs Office, the following activities are expected happen:
February 11 | 7pm | Opening Ceremony
Classical concert by Sinfonia Academy conducted by David Anne |
February 12 | 7pm | Drama “Buak nga Paraiso” starring Allan “Goliath” Nacorda, Priscilla Raganas, Miraluna Tumulac and various talents |
February 13 | 7pm | A Night of Philippine Cultural Dances Sugbu Performing Group and Cebu City’s Cultural Dance Troupe |
February 14 | 7pm | Comedy drama “Lalaki” that presents the harsh reality of love followed by an open mic poetry about “Gugmang Minghoy: Maoy nga balak, balak nga makamaoy”

February 15 | 8am – 5pm | Arts Workshop for kids (8 to 5 years old)
On-the-spot painting contest with lectures from Portrait Artists Society of the Philippines Inc. |
February 16 | 8am – 12pm

Submission of “Kinaiyahang Sugbuanon Painting Contest”
Judging of entries Awarding and Closing Ceremony |
