Rose Liza Eisma-Osorio.<\/strong> Currently\nteaching Environmental Law Public and Private International Law, Legal\nResearch and Writing, and Human Rights Law at the UC College of Law,\nEisma-Osorio also acts as the Faculty Adviser and Editor-in-Chief of the\nJournal of Research in Law and Policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IUCNAEL is an international network of 200\nenvironmental law faculties and research centers from 60 countries with an\nacademy secretariat located at the University of Maryland, USA<\/strong>. This network was\nbuilt with the belief that environmental legal\neducation is a vital contributor to the rule of law and to robust environmental\ngovernance essential for sustainable development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an environmental\nadvocate, <strong>she is one of the founders and\nmanaging trustee of the Philippine Earth Justice Center who recently received\nthe Tatak UP awards in 2018.<\/strong> This achievement can be traced on the number\nof environmental cases filed and won by PEJC. Like the decision of the Supreme\nCourt in the \u2018Resident Marine Mammals and Dolphins vs. Reyes\u2019 wherein Eisma-Osorio\nand another lawyer were recognized as the stewards of dolphins and whales of Ta\u00f1on Strait Protected Seascape in Central Philippines after\nputting an end on the illegal oil exploration in the protected seascape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to\nreports, and as affirmed by fellow environmental lawyer Gloria Estenzo-Ramos,\nEisma-Osorio is the first person to hold such position in Asia. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Among the environmental law faculties and research centers from 60 countries, the newly-elected chairperson of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Academy of Environmental Law is University of Cebu\u2019s professor Atty.
