Every day, we are able to dispose 163 million sachets and 48 million\nplastic bags \u2013 that is 60 billion sachets and 17.5 billion plastic bags a year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though plastic\nsachets are deemed as cost effective and convenient, we can\u2019t deny the fact that\nour \u2018throw away culture\u2019 <\/em>and poor\nwaste management programs have caused the deaths and alteration of our ecosystem.     Manufacturing\nyour beloved shoes every year requires a great amount of resources. For this\nreason, in 2015, Adidas partnered with environmental organization, Parley for\nthe Oceans in making 11 million pair of shoes made from recycled ocean plastic.\nInstead of using virgin polyester, Adidas make use of\nParley\u2019s collected trash by processing plastic bottles and forming them into\nthe upper part of the shoes and clothing like jerseys. By using recycled\npolyester, the company is able to use less water and fewer chemicals; hence,\nhelping in the prevention of plastic pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
