The premiere airlines of the country \u2013 Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific \u2013 remind passengers to prepare necessary travel documents before their flights as they may be barred from boarding if they lack the documents required by the local government. This is part of the precautionary measures taken against the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\nare allowed to travel?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With\nthe current threat of coronavirus, air travel is only allowed to the\nfollowing: stranded individuals, repatriated overseas Filipino\nworkers, and those working in authorized sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \nWhat\nare the necessary documents needed for air travel?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \nAccording\nto the Philippine Airline spokesperson, Cielo Villaluna, those who\nwere stranded because of the community lockdown which started in\nMarch must prepare a medical certificate and travel pass for them to\nbe able to board the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \nThose\nrepatriated OFWs must be able to procure a quarantine certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those who are working in authorized industries must carry along with them their company ID, employment certificate or ID from the inter-agency task force on COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \nIn\naddition to these documents, travelers must know beforehand the other\nrequirements needed to be presented as mandated by the local\ngovernment. In Cebu province, travelers are required to prepare a\nletter of acceptance from the local government. Other list of\nrequirements are posted in the official website of the Philippine\nAirlines. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n \nAround\n20 passengers were offloaded in Cebu Pacific\u2019s flight last June 9\nbecause they were not able to present all the necessary documents\nneeded. Similar incident has happened to PAL passengers as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \nWhat\nflights are currently available?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As of this writing, only two airlines have restarted their domestic flights bound to and from Manila to Davao, Cebu, Dipolog, and Cagayan de Oro.
