In
order to strengthen the campaign with regards to the mandatory use of face
masks in public, one million surgical masks were donated by Metro Manila-based
businessmen, Enrique Razon Jr. and Kim Wong. These masks will be distributed to
the barangays in Cebu City this Saturday so as to help in containing the
coronavirus disease that has affected the lives of many Cebuanos.

Aside
from the one million surgical masks, the two businessmen also donated 2,000
raincoats to the Philippine National Police for them to be protected this rainy
season while still implementing the health and safety protocols under the
enhanced community quarantine.

Cebu
City councilors Raymund Alvin Garcia and Eduardo Rama Jr. will take the
initiative of distributing these surgical masks to the barangay captains of
Cebu City this Saturday, June 28.

The COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force for the
Management of Emerging Infectious Disease noted that many Cebuanos in the streets
are observed to have not been wearing masks and not practicing social distance
from each other.
