Lapu-lapu\nCity Mayor Junard \u201cAhong\u201d Chan is now planning to give free vitamins and flu\nvaccine shots for the residents of the city as part of their campaign in\nfighting the coronavirus disease. The growing numbers of symptomatic patients\nin the city is quite alarming; hence, aside from the thorough information\ncampaign done by the local government, the city mayor is considering this new\nstrategy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based\non the data gathered by the local officials, most of those who were infected\nwith the virus show symptoms of coughs and fever. The city mayor believes that\nproviding free vitamins and flu shots will work as an effective countermeasure\nfor this problem \u2013 by boosting the immune system of Lapu-lapu City residents to\nfight off the virus until an approved vaccine is already available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Free Vitamins and Flu Shots for Lapu-lapu City residents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The local officials are still\nstudying this plan but they are already preparing to purchase these vitamins\nand flu vaccines once it\u2019s approved. The main target is to give these to those\nwho can\u2019t afford so as to boost their immune system and hopefully avoid\ncontracting the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a phone interview, the Mayor\nemphasized, \u201cThis will help those atong\nmga less fortunate gyud nga dili maka afford aning mga vitamins and vaccines.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n To date, Lapu-lapu City has already\nrecorded 468 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection wherein 96 are confined\nin the hospitals and 244 of them are in the isolation facilities or advised for\nhome quarantine.
