The urban planners assigned for this project have already identified the roads where the bike lanes will be placed and they are now finalizing the integrated master plan for this bicycle network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Assistant Head of the Cebu City Planning Office, Architect Anne Marie Cuizon, shared that it took time to finalize the project because they had to consider and align with the Bus Rapid Transit and the Integrated Inter-modal Transportation System of the tri-cities. This is to ensure the sustainability of the bike lanes or markings on the road. In progress, they are now polishing the \u201cTricities Bike Network\u201d Master Plan and its immediate implementation amidst the corona virus pandemic. Once done, the project will soon be endorsed to the Cebu City Council for approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Proposed Bike Lane Areas for Cebu City<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The urban planners of\nthe three cities are now making the necessary corrections on the master plan\nafter they have gathered the inputs provided from the environmental planners on\ntheir meeting. The proposed bike lanes for Cebu City will be placed on roads\nthat are not part of the BRT system. Phase One will include the areas of Labangon,\nBanawa, Guadalupe, V. Rama, FuenteOsme\u00f1a, Mango Avenue, Cebu Business Park,\nMabolo, Imus, M.J. Cuenco and downtown area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This aforementioned\nnetwork will extend to Lahug, Talamban, N. Bacalso, and South Road Properties\nfor the next phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bike plane project\nwas borne out of the public calls to establish other mode of transport during\nthe community quarantine as public transports were halted. The integration of\nthese bike lanes provides bikers a fair share on the road, as well as protect\nthem from road hazards.
