On its 82<sup>nd<\/sup> Charter Day celebration, Cebu City awarded the youth and government officials who have been advocating exemplary achievements and promoting legacies for a sustainable and livable city in the different fields, last February 24 at the Plaza Sugbo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7058\" src=\"https:\/\/queencitycebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/52706417_2322070574738673_2139191638109454336_n.jpg\" alt=\"Youseal winners 2019\" width=\"655\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/queencitycebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/52706417_2322070574738673_2139191638109454336_n.jpg 655w, https:\/\/queencitycebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/52706417_2322070574738673_2139191638109454336_n-239x350.jpg 239w, https:\/\/queencitycebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/52706417_2322070574738673_2139191638109454336_n-205x300.jpg 205w, https:\/\/queencitycebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/52706417_2322070574738673_2139191638109454336_n-287x420.jpg 287w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Out of the candidates, who created a great impact in the society, emerged young leaders who have proven to qualify for the <strong>Young Sugbuanon Exemplary and Action-driven Leader Award (YOUSEAL)<\/strong>. Showing nothing but excellence in their academics, leadership skills, character, and top quality social initiatives, the following young leaders showed that Cebu\u2019s tomorrow can actually be better than today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORY:<\/strong> Angela Sofia Mancao of St. Theresa\u2019s College of Cebu with her efforts to a more sustainable environment<\/li>\n<li><strong>COLLEGE CATEGORY:<\/strong> Nino Jan Miole of University of Cebu-Banilad for advocating a healthier Cebu as aligned with the school\u2019s vision of giving hope, transforming lives<\/li>\n<li><strong>COMMUNITY CATEGORY:<\/strong> Chrysler Ian Vizcayno from the Philippine Red Cross for his service to the community through volunteering.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SK COUNCIL CATEGORY: <\/strong>Barangay Sawang-Calero SK Council headed by Chairman Kenny Glenn Silud for their active involvement in spearheading youth assemblies, workshops, and other activities that would encourage the youth to participate for the progress of the barangay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These young awardees were meticulously chosen by the Board of Judges: <strong>Sheridan Athena Gajete, Ph.D<\/strong> (National Youth Commission<strong>), Dr. Nestor Aranbia<\/strong> (Department of Education), <strong>Socorro Dorina Salas<\/strong> (Program Manager DILG Cebu City), <strong>Jig Joris Morrondoz<\/strong> (SK Provincial-Executive Assistant 1), and <strong>Clarence Jacques Lim<\/strong> (Former SK Chairman of Barangay Tinago).<\/p>\n<p>Together with them, government leaders like Ronald Malacora and Registrar Lawyer Evangeline Abatayo were also awarded as \u201cOutstanding Department Heads\u201d of the year in their respective categories. In addition, 26 board exam topnotchers were also acknowledge like <strong>Megan Ashley Bartido<\/strong> (Respiratory Therapist Licensure Examination) and <strong>Joseph Vincent Satura <\/strong>(Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers Licensure Examination).<\/p>\n<p>As the city continues to prosper, YOUSEAL hopes to inspire more people \u2013especially the youth \u2013 to participate actively by sharing their best practices, speaking about their inspirations, and motivating others to succeed through their initiated activities and commitment to serve the people, the city, and the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The success of a certain place is always attributed to the people who made efforts to shape it.
