Summer is the time to hate the heat of the glaring sun, and at the same time, admire the warm, orange hues of the rays during sundown. I hate going out of the house when the sun it out. The heat melts the makeup off of my face 5 minutes after applying. Plus, I hate the sweaty, sticky feeling I get when I try to squeeze myself in the jeepney just to get to my destination on time.

Yesterday, I witnessed the beautiful sunset from the jeepney on my way home. The sun was boasting its orange prowess, hitting the passengers’ faces, including mine, right where we needed to glow. It made me appreciate the sun more. I can get a sunkissed glow right in my seat! But of course, what’s better than doing it where you should, right?

I am not saying that the beach is the only place for you to get a tan. What I am telling you is that you should at least let yourself go and enjoy the pleasure of actually being at the beach, soaking in the sun. It feels different. The breeze is cooler, the water is salty; it is liberating– and dramatic. I can tell you on and on about how beautiful it is to be at the beach right now, but no, I can show you instead.
