Have you Heard that the Cebu-Cordova Bridge may extend to Mactan Airport?!

Guess what, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation just confirmed last Sunday that it would be extending its bridge project all the way to Mactan Cebu International Airport. CCLEC President and General Manager Allan Go Alfon shared that the company is set to pursue this project of extending the CCLEX to the international airport.

CCLEX Extended to Mactan Cebu International Airport

Alfon shared that CCLEC is looking forward to collaborating with Lapu-lapu City Mayor Junard ‘Ahong’ Chan to the refinement of the planned 7-kilometers skyway. In another interview, the city mayor disclosed how beneficial it would be to travel from SM seaside at the South Road Properties in Cebu City directly to Mactan Cebu International Airport. This would cut travel time to 15 minutes, saving passengers and travelers so much time.

The CCLEC General Manager revealed that this project is hopefully set to begin in two to three years, after all government requirements are settled.

Updates on Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX)

CCLEC is currently working on the construction of the longest bridge that would connect two islands in the Philippines – the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway. The company is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, a member of the MVP Group of Companies.

As of October 2020, the construction of CCLEX is already at 63.43 percent. This 8.5-kilometer bridge linking the town of Cordova in Mactan Island and Cebu mainland aims to alleviate the traffic congestion of Metro Cebu and boost the economy of the province.
