As we might already know, Sinulog is the busiest event that Cebu ever has because of all the parades, masses, and other events that take place in public places. Year after year, people from all over the world book flights to Cebu only to commemorate with us. Be it for religious, traditional or recreational purposes, believers and non-believers alike are seen on the streets rubbing elbows with one another.
If you have never attended Sinulog before or even if you have, you just forgot ;), we have basic guidelines and reminders for you. As the annual event comes closer, we will keep on updating this post so please don’t forget to check from time to time.
Attend with a bigger purpose
It is understood that Sinulog is a huge celebration, but at the end of the day, it is still a tribute to Cebu’s Sto. Nino. If you don’t respect this religious belief, then you better stay away from Cebu during this time. 🙂 This is not a time for getting wasted or meeting up with a Tinder date, okay?
Prepare your best-performing pair of rubber shoes
Streets will be closed and a massive amount of people will be traveling by foot during that time. It would be best if you leave your vehicle at home and take the best pair of rubber shoes you have instead. There will be intense walking for the entire day!
Secure your personal valuables
Do not bring big bags or too many things to the parades or to the masses because thieves may still be lurking around even during a religious time. Also, you wouldn’t want to be carrying excessive items you don’t need.
Liquor/party/gun ban
No liquors, parties, and guns are allowed in the event. Leave all your sharp objects at home or anything that might hurt others.
Bring necessities only
Pack only what you need: extra cash, mobile phone, water bottle, and your faith. The bigger picture for celebrating is, after all, Jesus. 🙂
Send us your photos after the event so we can feature you on our page and website! #pritititQCC2019
