Pretty sure you’ve been longing to get out of the city and craving for a different view. This cozy coffee shop in Carmen – Balwarte ni Vossing, may just be the right destination for you and your family/ friends.
It’s a whole different vibe in here – it feels very enchanted or mystical because of its surrounding, and also because it’s very eye-catching. I love how its a container van turned into coffee shop – very sustainable. You can’t miss it out on the road, it’s right on the way heading to the Cebu Safari Park.
The coffee shop and diner offers a very relaxing and chill atmosphere. You will be surrounded by big luscious trees while you eat your meal or have a good cuppa coffee. It’s definitely a stress-free zone. At times the place gets covered with fog plus the cold breeze – giving it that mystical energy and that sweater weather feels.
Balwarte ni Vossing serves a good variety of Filipino favorite dishes – from batchoy, balbacua, pochero, silog meals, pancit, to sandwiches, and some side dishes. Also, try their Breakfast Platter – it looks so delicious and filling. Their serving is good for 2 to 3 persons – ideal for sharing with your family or barkadas.
You, your family and friends would definitely enjoy dining here and after enjoying your meal while forest bathing, you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee. Or better yet, have a bucket of beer with your barkadas. They also serve other alcoholic drinks from beer to whiskey, to tequila – to warm you up.

Balwarte ni Vossing is located in Toril, Carmen, Cebu. It’s about 50 km from the city proper and will take 1.5 – 2 hours of travel.
CAR: The easiest and most convenient to get to the coffee shop diner is through a private vehicle. Just search Balwarte ni Vossing on Google Maps. Then follow the directions to the place. It’s also right before Cebu Safari Park so you can’t miss it. The drive usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours depending on traffic.
BUS: Go to the Cebu North Bus Terminal and hop on a bus bound for Carmen. Tell the bus driver or conductor to drop you off at the Public Market in Carmen. When you get to the market, you can take a habal-habal ride to Cebu Safari and Adventure Park – since Balwarte ni Vossing is just right before the entrance of the park.
