Sinulog has always been a grand celebration for us Cebuanos, commemorating the child Jesus’s presence in our island. For Sinulog 2020, the theme of the celebration will be Sto. Niño: Cause of our Unity and Charity.
Every year, local and foreign visitors come by to enjoy the festivities with the locals, especially the street parties. But, for the last five years, these street parties have been absent, as previous mayor Osmena banned such activities. There was a clamor to bring back the glory days and with present mayor Labella, street parties may be back for Sinulog 2020. This direction is undergoing a careful evaluation based on the information gathered from the past years with street parties.

The possibility of street parties happening is not far out so, what do you need to prepare for such? According to Mayor Labella, there will be side events throughout the celebration, showcasing grandeur and vibrant colors for the spectators to witness. With this in mind, we can expect a lot of walking to happen in order to appreciate the various sights that will be in store for us.

But before we dwell further on the street parties to enjoy, let’s not forget that the Sinulog festival is all about our faith, that usually starts with the launching ceremony.
